TNGC Funding Request

Ok, we need to get somewhere with this fast now

in less than 2 weeks our mumble server subscription will lapse, as this is a key piece of our infrastructure as a group it needs to be maintained, our forum hosting is also coming up for renewal, likewise this is a core part of what keeps us together. It all costs money.

Donations are now being requested, if you represent a division please ask in game and post the link

How much to give?
if you don't have a lot of money then please simply give what you can, if you're really hard up then it's fine to give nothing
for those of us with jobs please think about giving a bit more, around £10, that's less than £1 per month which is barely more than a chocolate bar
please, no donations more than £25, this is meant to be a community, we all need to chip in

FJ is attempting to set up a BF3 server which will meet our forum and chat needs alongside giving us a gaming server, if you want to sign up for a slot on that then please hold of donating here, all money given here will be used towards forums and chat, either through a game server or independantly

What other options would you like to see? Transfering directly to a bank account in the EU is rather simple provided you get the right info (BIC/IBAN etc). This could be an additional option if theo doesn't mind donations going directly to his ban account.

I'm holding off until we get more info on the BF3 thing before I make my mind up.

i have to say i'm not wild about the idea of giving out my account details, also there's the pain of keeping track donations if they go into my main account, google checkout is likewise a pain as i need to manage and keep track of 2 accounts which is awkward for such small sums...

i think my preferred option, if people really can't use paypal is to use direct bank transfer and i'll record the payment on my spreadsheet, just don't want it to become regular or me handing bank info over to to many

I donated a while back, while running and paying for the mumble server. Do I get a special tag under my Avatar name? :P

Being a Star Captain is awesome. But being a Community Donar or something would be aweomer

Heh if you can organize it. I'll support the idea :)

Theo, ignoring the BF3 server for the moment. Where exactly are we with the basic fundraising for the domain, website, mumble?

How much is the domain?
How much is mumble?
How much is the web hosting?
How much in donations do we have?

Assuming web hosting is the same as last year
£60.99 web hosting, domain was I think included in the cost
£54.00, based on what D3ViOUS had been paying

we had around £23 in the bank and we've had about £30 of donations so far, minus whatever paypal deducted (unless more has come in since this morning)

so we're about halfway there to meeting our yearly funding needs, although with only 2 people chipping in so far it'd be nice if a few more who use mumble and these forums would like to chip in, i'd much rather lots of people paid a little than a small group paid a lot, it's more in keeping with us being a community

Bad timing for me but I'll chip in at end of month if that helps.

Mumble payments started off at £8.45, but recently in the last 4 or 5 months I've only been paying £4.50 a month. I can't imagine it'll get any cheaper, but I'm pretty sure it won't go any higher.

So yeah £54 for the year.

awesome, ideally the easiest thing would be for me to pay you directly to pay for the mumble server, assuming that works for you?
