Backup mumble server

I currently hiring a VPS for a year for some experimenting. I've set up a mumble server on it that TNGC members are free to use in case the main one is down or whenever they want really. Its got 100/mbit up and down so should be able to handle plenty of people. I don't mind making this our main server once the current one runs out either, its all already paid for a year.

Details
address: alastriona.info
port: 64738
password: same as primary mumble server.

I've noticed our other server has run out. So i'd like to point out that my server is currently up and running. I've been trying to set up an admin panel but I'm not having a huge amount of success. So well have to see how we are going to manage the server. For now I'm the only one with admin powers.

Feel free to use the channels I set up for now. We can talk about setting up a more organised channel structure later.

I didn't buy the server for TNGC but I'm not really using it alot atm so might as well host mumble. It seems mumble takes alot less bandwith then I thought. Yesterdays peak I think was 100 kb/s and there were I think about 8-10 people on at one point.

I had thought we would just transition it onto the 64 player BF3 server once the 32 slot one had expired, this is an even better solution though if it's up for a year, much appreciated :) (and one less thing to pay for)

sorta expected the same but not sure now if that was included with that one too.
Then i noticed alastriona had setup a backup and hopped onto that one :)

Quite interested in those usage statistics, tonight there prob will be some bigger peaks if theres a wow raid too.
I kinda wondered what it would take to host it.
I have my mediaserver running 24/7 and wondered what if i hosted it myself on there as either backup or when your vps would run out, would my connection be more then sufficient or not.. (4mbit ul should hold quite some ppl, but what if i was gaming etc..)

I've got a stat monitoring program active now. The bandwith is not mumble specific, its for the entire server. But not alot of bandwith is used besides mumble for now so it will be pretty accurate. I'll look into seeing if I can hook it up to monitor the mumble port specifically. The images might not refresh automatically so click them to go to the live stats page:

Live channel view

I will see if we can get this embedded as a widget somehow. Maybe nice for the main TNGC website.

Server seems to be working great. Been on several times now without performance problems. Nice job Niels!

One minor annoyance. Does anyone else sometimes find themselves have to click a channel lots of times to join? Doesn't always work first time for me :?

I do get a delay of 5-6 seconds before switching sometimes

Yes I've had it too sometimes, but I have no clue whats causing it. The bandwidth and CPU power are well below limits, in fact I am using less then 1% of each for running the mumble server. But since it seems rather minor I don't think its really worth investigating.

Also. 16 mumble users at one point, spiking at about 1 mbit/s bandwith. Is TNGC gaining activity again with the new releases that are out and coming up?
