Forum Access Explained

Alastriona has just pointed out some Access problems with the way I've setup the forums. So instead of me testing out everyones access I thought I'd write a post to explain what you should and should not have access too so I can identify who is having problems.

I'll do a similar one for permissions later once I fix access.

There are 4 levels of Access:

• Guest
• Registered User
• Member
• Private Member

Member (1 for each division) and Private member are made up of groups:

Member Groups

• Beltain lords
• Community Member
• Imperial Leagionnaires
• Innovate
• MAP
• Nemetos order
• SCUM
• Starwolf
• Starwolf (EVE)
• Terra Nova
• Pirates of the Burning Sea

Private Member

• NO Officers

Each level of Access is configured in the following way:
Guest

• TerraNovaGaming.Community
• Help & Support
• Recruitment

Registered Users
Guest access +

• Free Chat
• Computers & the Internet
• General Gaming
• Battlefield
• World of Warcraft
• Half life 2
• Total War
• TNGC Racing
• Console Gaming
• Pirates of the Burning Sea

Member
Guest access +
Registered Users access +

• Suggestions & Complaints
• Administration & Development
• PlanetSide - Starwolf
• World of Warcraft - Nemetos Order
• Raiding
• Guild Bank & DKP
• Classes
• Eve Online - Starwolf (EVE Division)
• Total War - Imperial Legionnaires
• Structure
• Government
• Parliment
• Terra Nova - World in Conflict
• Terra Nova Company - Pirates of the Burning Sea
• World of Warcraft - Beltain Lords
• PlanetSide - Myriad Apocalypse Project

Private Member
Guest access +
Registered User access +
Community Member access +

• Nemetos Order Officers bar

So in Summary:
NO Officers can Access everything
Member Groups can Access everything but NO Officers
Registered Users can Access everything but NO Officers and Member (divisional) forums.
Guests are limited to TerraNovaGaming.Community/Help & Support/Recruitment

pah, i used to have access it the NO officers bar, give me access back, who knows something interesting may get posted

Just had another attempt at the access permissions. Removed all the old access permissions and started again. Much more straight forward setup now without the confusion of old access permissions that were important from the previous version of phpBB.

Everything should work as in my first post of this topic.

I can see the Admin forum now. Now to decide whether thats good or bad...
