Thanks Goff, very kind. That would probably be sufficient, were it not for the Nemetos activity in raids.

Unsure over what to do. If we want to keep Mumble for the NO activity, and keep everything together (which I prefer a great deal to separating them) I think we need to trawl Nemetos for some donations. They're getting the most use out of it, and from what I can see the regular users outside of that have donated plenty in the past. Obviously there have been donations from NO members, but the scales are definitely out of balance somewhat.

Fair comment?

Let's see how Ala's server pans out first. If it works, great, if not then call that plan B.

Do you take donations in Lavascale Catfish? We have plenty.

Ahh yes, the free server. Well, if there is a catch, Theo and I can always go have a word...

Realised this topic had been allowed to go quiet

we have until the 23rd and then we loose mumble

has any progress been made on the this wonderful free server?

if not are we going to keep mumble going (are we as a community going to fund it out of our own pocket?)

if we are we need money from our members, i'm happy to chip in but this is a community service and we need to either pay for it as a community or not bother

this needs addressing urgently

also, just did a quick check of where we are finance wise, we're currently up about £23, web hosting will also need to be paid again for next year in the next 7-8 weeks, assuming fees are the same as last year that's £60.99 for web hosting and £54 for mumble meaning we need an extra £91.99 to cover our costs for next year if we're paying for mumble

I couldn't get the free server thing working for some reason, maybe its limited or something? It says my server is up but mumble doesnt find any running server.

I dont even mind taking it over completely from devious.
NO uses it the most anyhow currently, and I can arrange donations from them easily.

Lets not start confusing things. Just get everyone who wants to donate to click the Donate link at the top of the forums. Then Theo can pay Tim. Not point getting another person involved.

Cald, much as the offer for NO to pay is appreciated I really believe we should be paying for these sort of things as a group, not just a subsection.

Some shameless plugging of the link for donations in the guild chat channel would be hood though, its not actually that much money we need if everyone chips in.[flash=][/flash]

How many slots does our mumble server currently have? Because I was checking multiplay and they are offering voice comms for half price. you can get a full year of 50 slot mumble for only 27 pounds. Seems really cheap.

Ok its the exact same cost then, but with this discount it will be exactly half of what we are currently paying. Might be worth considering?
