Proposal: WoW RP-PvP: Lore Seekers
Name of Leader: Me
Division Name: LoreSeekers or Lore Seekers
Game to be played: WoW on Defias Brotherhood Roleplaying PvP
Motivation: I feel like starting a guild both to create a roleplaying framework and ulterior purpose AND to make friends and have fun
Teamspeak Comms Officer: Me
Web Administrator: Me
Sub-Domain Name:
Forum Moderator: Me
Plan Of Action: It really isn't evident from the above, but I hope to create a group that isn't dependant on me alone to survive and prosper in the long run, because my wellbeing can be quite fickle. Thus, I hope I find someone to fill some of the spots.
To start off I want to appoint temporary officers to get the guild going, encouraging use of teamspeak and forums.
A secretive mysticist warrior/adventurer guild, heavily inspired by the Freemasons and oriental philosophy such as ninjutsu. Believes that, bluntly put, "Knowledge is Power". As you progress in the order you will learn to realize your true potential.
Ranks:
Grand Master (Guild master)
Arbiter (Officers)
Master Seeker
Fellow Seeker
Lesser Seeker
Apprentice (Trial period under the supervision of a sponsor)
Initiate (The starting rank upon being invited to the guild)
NB: OK, so these ranks have too many letters =(
-Apprenticeship: The fledgling members trial begins upon being accepted by a sponsor, which must be no less than a ranking Seeker. Even after the trial period, the member retains a connection to his or her sponsor. The sponsors duty is to relay to the apprentice the ways of the order.
-Progress: Whenever a member attains any critical rank, there will be a guild meeting where the member will stand trial before his superior Seekers and arguments will be made for and against; the members further advancement being decided by majority vote. Further rituals mark the members progress and the initiation into greater enlightenment and the member will swear an oath never to reveal the secret knowledge of the order or be cursed with insanity. This is called the "Seekers Burden"
-Guild quests: Possibly a member will be charged to visit tomes detailing the history of Azeroth, and other sources of knowledge, as appropriate for his level.
Alt characters: Additional characters will be given same rank as ones main character.
-The tabard depicts Chakro'm, the universal serpent, the cosmic cycle, beginning and ending, life and death, fullness and void, darkness and light (Yes, I made that up.)
Now I'm sure I have forgotten something, but it's been a long day and I dearly want to get some opinions on my work. If you notice anything I seem to have forgotten or other, speak up!

Alright
I just realized something lying in bed, thinking after I woke up:
The guild should be almost entirely non-dogmatic in nature, members being free to believe anything they wish. What would be held in common would be "lessons" given to members and some sort of common symbology, like the Chakro'm, which is essentially a sort of yin and yang symbol. The lessons, like in masonism, would be open to interpretation by the individual.

Thanks Aveox and Aczeren. Moral support is all I need (and your signature )
In other news I was watching Millenium yesterday. The "Millenium group" seems to be interesting. Might add elements of it into the Lore Seekers if I can find something. This is what I got:
"The series follows the activities of Frank Black and the Millenium Group which has been fighting
evil for 2000 years. Dark and gloomy all the way through, it dealt with issues which were strange
and odd like weird serial killers and religious fruitcakes."
"A former FBI profiler moves his family from Washington DC to Seattle, where he joins the Millenium Group, a mysterious organization of former law enforcement officers, committed to battling a crime wave which grows as the turn of the millenium approaches."
"their goal is
to save the earth from the pending destruction they see
coming in the new millenium."
Also in need of a new motto and a secret handshake/ greeting.
