Deleted Pm's
Hiya guys, I don't suppose there's a way to recover deleted personal messages from a few years back is there?
Re: Deleted Pm's
I have backups taken at irregular intervals over the last few years. What sort of date you thinking of?
Re: Deleted Pm's
Ah great thanks FJ, I'll try to get the date range as small as poss, will take a bit of research and I'll get back to you. Thanks again homie
Edit: initial investigations suggest a period between August 2007 - December 2007. If it helps I'm looking for account details that I passed to Killerwolf and Ashfish regarding Eve online. I wont have had many Pm's to or from those lovely guys so the dates may be a little before that time but probably not after.
I appreciate your help kind sir, thankyou in advance.

Re: Deleted Pm's
I have a backup for December 2007. Not a full one sadly. Will do a search of the raw database dump and see if I get lucky otherwise I'll have to setup a virtual machine with the forum software to make it easy to browse.

Re: Deleted Pm's
I have PHPBB3 set up @ black dawn that I could send you the admin details for FJ if it helps.

Re: Deleted Pm's
Most web hosts seem to have a limit on the size of databases you can import. Its probably quicker to just install Ubuntu as a virtual machine then contact customer support. Thanks anyhow.
Re: Deleted Pm's
Oh don't go to too much trouble on my account fellers, I appreciate the help but I'm the dumbass who doesn't archive past coms lol.
Re: Deleted Pm's
Its really no problem. I was already planning to install Ubuntu on a virtual machine today to test the latest release. I've just started the installation now

Hey, FJ only needs the slightest excuse to do techy geeky stuff esp if it invloves forums/websites.
I can imgine him now, locked up in his computer room with his spare PC, gleefully burning the latest Ubuntu ISO to DVD, fantasising about the early hours of the morning when it's finally up nd running

Pfft.. been up and running for hours. I don't burn ISO's either. You can just mount them in Virtual Machines. Apart from Ubuntu not working in Virtual PC 2007 the installation went perfectly. Really impressed how MySQL, phpMyAdmin and Apache2 all automatically configured themselves and actually worked straight away!
Seems a lot quicker Ubuntu 9.04. Really impressed with the new Operating Systems this year. Windows 7 has really improved performance too. Definitely happy with Ubuntu 9.04. I've already downloaded the Ubuntu 9.04 Remix for Netbooks too. Going to install it on my EEE tomorrow. Going to have Xandaros Linux, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Ubuntu Remix on all at once while I pick which is best
Anyhow I'm going off topic. Fenn, there were some PM's from July 2007. Some mention EVE but thats it... no account details I'm afraid.

The effort I put into MMO's, you'd have to pay someone to take that account off of you
