I'd go for the one which has the most blonde female employees

BUMP
This is now urgent, our current package expires on the 4th December, also our domain lease expires on the same date so we need to get this sorted quickly now.
If we have no better ideas and we're happy with our current service i'd recommend we stay put for another year.

Re: Forum Hosting
I'm still interested in the VPS option we briefly tried. That way we can merge our voice comms and website into a single service, of course its slightly more work. Who is paying for our mumble server these days?
Re: Forum Hosting

Re: Forum Hosting
How much cash do we have. The donation widget says 95 pounds. Anything left from the previous round?Theodora wrote:at this exact point it seems noone, server went down last night and we had to move to a backup
Re: Forum Hosting
very little, i'd have to double check but if i remember rightly we had just enough for a final year of hosting
Re: Forum Hosting
resubbing for the forums for another year as per the invoice from our hosters
Linux Gold - terranovagaming.com (04/12/2010 - 03/12/2011) £54.99 GBP
Domain Renewal - terranovagaming.com - 1 Year/s £6.00 GBP
so £60.99
unless someone has a better idea

Re: Forum Hosting
I had hoped we'd get more input on this. What it really comes down to is deciding what exactly we want to use our website for. Since we lack the development skills within the Community ourselves to design, maintain and develop the website we are left we little choice but to make better uses of the various online services.
This was my aim earlier in the year. To turn the website into a streamlined central point where all the different services come together. This would also have the knock on effect of reducing the required webspace and bandwidth we need.
If we did that we could drop down to the silver package. Possibly lower. Freeing up cash for other things like a new Mumble server.

I don't think we lack the skills, I think we lack the time and willingness.Firejack wrote:I had hoped we'd get more input on this. But to make this decision we need more information. I'm sure fj posted it somewhere but it'd be nice to know what bandwith we use. It would also be nice to know what we (or tim?) pays for the mumble server. Then we have to guess what amount of money is reasonable to expect in donations each year. Personally I wouldn't mind contributing 5-10 pounds anually.
