I kinda agree with fenn on that.. tbh i dont think this game will run a year here, at least not that actively after a while (lots of games gonna attract interest away from it).
Then again it`s your own choice/money

I agree with that actually. BF3 will only hold my attention for so long. When SWTOR is released I'll be on that 100%. Then when GW2, Firefall and Tribes Ascend are released... My time will be split into those too lol.

Also I played Bad Company 2 constantly when it 1st came out. But after a few weeks or a month, I got a bit bored of it tbh. Short attention span lol

But paying for a whole year for an official BF3 server, wouldn't be worth it for the community imo. Sorry to put a downer on it all lol. But it is alot of money! Just wait a month into release. If people are still playing it as much as they were on release, then consider looking for a server?

BTW, anyone interested in helping me run the Free BF3 server?

It looks fairly simply to setup (reserved slots etc) so I can probably do that myself.

I just need people to help kick the idiots+cheats/change maps/team balancing etc

Will give you a reserved slot for the whole month in return so no messing around trying to find a space on a server during launch

Had confirmation when the server will be live - Thursday 27th of October @ 00:00

We can request the server is brought up early on the 24th if we want. I see no point as BF3 isn't out until the 27th/28th for most of us.

PANIC!!! Just had an Email to say due to an Internet cable issue our server will be up 1-2 weeks late!!!








That was the first Email. Second Email I got was to say they had Emailed me by mistake. PANIC OVER!

The BF3 and Mumble servers are online. I don't have time to configure them right now. Need to get my stuff ready for work in the morning. I'll set the servers up tomorrow afternoon. Looks fairly straight forward...

We're using the same password as the old server. Not the one for the backup server.

IP = removed
Port = removed

BF3 details are as follows, also 32-slots

IP = 85.236.109.216
Port = 21667

Not sure is the BF3 server is online. If it is its default configuration.
