Hmm... contravertial indeed. technically, last time i checked the community was only open to members over 18, but, its not really fair to discriminate against younger members who have been in the community a long time.
Also
"The adult members of the TNGC hold no responibility for the younger members of the comunity who wish to attend"
Does that mean if we get a signed permission slip from their parents they can come ?
I would agree with a strict no unaccompanied people aged 15 years or younger. I do believe that we have some 16 or 17 year olds, we could allow them to come under special circumstances, Especially if they agree not to drink, or not to have more than one drink... etc. (or if they want to come accompanied by a parent/guardian).
Besides:

In terms of myself. I'd really like to be there, but its like, 8 months ahead, whilst i'd like to, i can't give you notice like that.
Flights (jet2.com) from belfast to blackpool aren't even bookable yet
Deleted my original post in the other topic lest i be accused of spamming it. this is the discussion thread

ive got no problem with 16 or 17 year olds having a few beers with us. i DO have a problem with scraping 14 year olds up off the pavement however. i can sympathise with the situation, but in reality maybe getting plastered with a bunch of people you know through the interweb that young isnt such a hot move, if not just because your parents would go totally spare.

As I'm going to be holding the barbecue where the majority of drinking will take place, I'm okay for under 18's to drink alcohol.
I remember many happy years from 15yrs upwards being spent on Venture Scout camps, with the older Scouts teaching me how to drink properly.
However, I still expect under 18's to drink responsibly and behave themselves. If you get out of hand, expect to get a good kicking and locked in the shed at the bottom of the garden until you sober up!
