Donating to the TNGC

Keeping our various webservers, game servers and that lumbering monster TeamSpeak server all up and running, sadly, costs money. With luck, you should see a Donation Button at the top of the main forum pages through which you can help keep our services in action.

TNGC Treasurer Theodora is now standing by to receive any generous donation you can afford to help keep us running. If you can only spare a quid or a couple euros, it'll still be welcome! Please, though, no large donations - keep them below £25 no matter how flushed with cash you're feeling.

Moneys donated will go straight into funding those vital servers and if there's any left over when the end-of-year bills are paid then there might be a little entertainment-&-booze fund available for official TNGC get-togethers or other community events.

Please also try to bring the donations system to the attention of our many members who spend more time playing than reading the forums (strange folks! ;-) ).

Donation made :-)

Also, no one should feel bad for not being able to make a donation - a clue is in the word, DONATION. I know we have a lot of students etc on here so don't worry about it.

Already donated 5 quid. Don't know what I would do with my spare time if these forums went away :O.

Well said Amiga. I know we have a lot of students here - always strapped for cash. Or, indeed, older folks with families to worry about. Don't be embrassed if you can't make a donation. Though, even if you can only make a tiny one, it all adds up ;-)

There has been some discussion about having a box that shows who donated but TBH, I'm not so sure thats a great idea. Suggestion: what we might do is, once paying-the-bills-day comes, give a Rah-rah post to the folks who were quick off the mark?

I think showing people who have donated is a good idea. I know not everyone can donate, but it's nice to be recognised for those who do.

I was thinking along the lines of a plugin similar to that on the left on the following site:-

Should be there at the top right whenever you're on the front page of the forums. Just alongside those headlines from the Portal.

Maybe I'm blind but it didn't say which currency you were donating in, does it change with the country you select? Anyone know?

Ah cheers theo, you were right, although you had to go to the final step to get it in your own currency. Bit stupid cause you had to go back and fill everything in again if you got the wrong amount. Anyway donation done hope it helps! Wouldn't want to loose forums and TS.
