I feel the point has been reached were Spam Bots are getting out of control. There is only so many fake accounts I can delete and IP's I can ban.

Therefore until the release of version 3.0.5 of the forum software with its new security features. New registrations will be suspended and all guest posts will require Moderator approval before being posted.

For those who want a forum account. Please ask your an Officer of your Guild/Clan to contact me on Xfire or Steam. I will manually create the account and pass on the details through them to you.

Evidently " all guest posts will require Moderator approval before being posted" Is a LIE!!1one!!!

It would seem the Moderatorion of posts only applies to new registered users with less then a set threshold of posts. Must be a way to add Guests. *Goes to fiddle*

OK found the option hidden away. Why do they do this in phpBB3? So hard to find what should be obvious settings.

NOTE TO SELF: TNGC, Help + Support, Recruitment permissions changed. ACP >> Forums >> Forum Permissions >> edit Guest Permissions >> Limited Access set >> Under Advanced Permissions >> Misc >> Can Post without approval = NO

I truly found all these post very amuzing and informing, in a sense unexplainable to mankind. There links where good, it satisfied my most utter needs and i found an awful lot of information with these links, increasing my brain power to such a level that can compete with socrates, kant and nietcscszze(spelling?). I do not see the necessety of removing these knowledgable users from the forums, I take great pleasure in their posts, they are serious and straight to the case, unlike many of the other posters here on forums. If we are to remove these posts, we need to remove other users from the forums aswell. THIS IS BASIC LOGIC WATERBOB!!!!

I know. I don't even think it includes posts that belonged to fake user accounts that I've deleted!

I've updated the forums from 3.0.2 to 3.0.5. As a result I've restored New User Registrations. However, for the time being, I'll have to manually approve the accounts until I know the new security features this version of phpBB is meant to bring works.

Guest user posts will still require manual approval by a moderator for the time being also.

Only 1 spam message and 1 spam registration so far. Better then it was. Somehow they are still getting through though

compared to the steady stream it's a big improvement, felt like we were under seige
