Introduction

Great! You have decided to help the Community break out into another game under your leadership. This article aims to help make the process of getting your new division off to a successful start.

Advantages

Creating a new Community division has many advantages;

  • Webspace with PHP and MySQL support.
  • Teamspeak channel to organise yourselves in game.
  • Forum space to talk and share your ideas.
  • <division-name>.terranovagaming.com sub domain.
  • An established Community to back your project

What you need to do

In order to receive approval and gain access to these great features you will need to copy and paste the following form into a new thread on our forums titled Proposal :: <insert-division-name>

Notes:

--A person may fill more then one role listed on the form but no single person should be responsible for all tasks.

--Only members who have been part of the Community for 6 months can start a new Community.

Explanation of form

  • Name Of Leader - This is yourself and by entering your name here you are declaring your interest in creating a new division and accept the commitment needed to fill this role.
  • Division Name - Try to think of a unique name that is interesting, clever or something else easy to remember. This will set you apart from other gaming community's and attract lots of attention from gamers.
  • Game to be played - Title of the game your new division intends to play. You cannot start another TNGC division if an existing division exists for the title you are playing.
  • Motivation - Probably the most important question. Why do you what to lead this adventure?
  • Teamspeak Comms Officer - Helping other users get the most from Teamspeak this person should have some experience of using the program. Channel Admin rights will be granted to make Administrating the channel easy.
  • Web Administrator - All successful gaming communities has their own corner of the Internet. Someone needs to able to design and maintain this website.
  • Sub-Domain Name - Ideally something short and simple. If your division name is long try an abbreviation or acronym.
  • Forum Moderator - A person who frequently visits the forums will need to maintain the divisions forum space.
  • 'Community Liaison - A person will need to act as a link between the new division and the Community to ensure each group is kept informed about the other. The Community should be informed by a regular monthly newsletter style post on the Portal and the divisions members need to be made aware of the Community's communication channels such as forums, Teamspeak, Xfire so they can fully participate in the Community and any events that might be held.
  • Plan Of Action - So what next? You have the awesome idea for division. Now share your thoughts in a brief outline of the project.

Finally...

All that is left to do is get the 9 other TNGC members interested in helping with your new project to sign up by replying to the thread containing your proposal. This is needed to keep the continuity and consistency of the Community to a core of similar people/ players. Once all 9 members have signed up and all other parts of the form completed. A meeting will be held in which all existing divisional leaders will briefly discuss this proposal and either approve or deny the request by majority in a vote. I will act as chair for the meeting but won't have a vote.

Good luck and thanks for your interest in expanding the community :)
