Open game console using tilde ~ key

Show FPS

Type Render.DrawFps 1 to show framerate top right.

Performance Graph tool

Type Render.PerfOverlayVisible 1 to show performance graph bottom left

Graph shows the render rate. You want lower lines. Higher results mean slower performance.

CPU = Yellow line

GPU = Green line

If CPU is above GPU it means your CPU is bottle neck and vice-versa.

The lines for scale are; 60 FPS = bottom line, 30 FPS = middle line, 0 FPS = top line.

Make sure Origin is closed

Open Steam Library

Click + Add A Game....

Choose Add a Non-Steam Game...

Choose Origin, Add Selected Programs

Select Origin and Click Play

Optional: In Steam Library, right click Origin and goto Properties

Change Shortcut name to Battlefield 3 if thats the only Origin game you need the Steam overlay for.

Select Choose Icon... and navigate to BF3 game directory and choose BF3.exe
